Following 8 successful seasons at the helm of the University of Bristol Rugby Club, Joe Goodman has left his role of Head of Rugby. Everyone at the University of Bristol Rugby club wishes Joe all the best of the future and hope to see him at a game soon.
Matt Birch (University of Bristol, Director of Sport) has said; "Joe has made an invaluable contribution, during his 8 years at the University, through his passion for rugby and expertise and has left an impression on many students lives. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Joe every success in the future."
The club are delighted to say that Club Manager Olly Slym will be taking the Head of Rugby role until July 2024 with the coaching team of Dan Gaywood and Shane Claridge taking roles as lead performance coaches. The club are also recruiting a lead forward coach in the coming weeks to complete the coaching and management setup for the remainder of this season.
The club have had a good start to the season currently sitting in 4th in BUCS Premier South having played the runaway leaders Brunel twice already. A more favourable
run to end the season is ahead of the team as they strive for the target of top 2 to end the league campaign.
The next home game is on 29th of November v Exeter Men's 2s, there is also an opportunity to see the team in London on December 15th (1930) at Grasshoppers RFC v Birmingham in a traditional Maroon fixture.
